About

Why I Started PTK CPA

PTK CPA was founded in 2024 with a simple goal: to help individuals and businesses make better tax decisions—today and for the future. That includes both accurate, compliant tax preparation and proactive planning that looks ahead. Too often, taxes are handled reactively. My focus is on helping clients file with confidence while positioning them for stronger outcomes over time, no matter where life takes them next.

My Path to Tax

My career didn’t begin in accounting. After ten years in sales, my family prepared for a military move overseas—one of many transitions that come with a highly mobile lifestyle. That change sparked a bigger question: what kind of career could move with us?

In 2017, I pursued a master’s degree in accounting. What began as a practical decision quickly became a calling. Tax work brought together problem-solving, attention to detail, and long-term thinking—along with the opportunity to help people navigate complex filing requirements during major life changes, often across states or borders.

What I Do Best

I help individuals and small businesses understand where they stand today through clear, thorough tax preparation—and then use that foundation to plan smarter for the future. From multi-state and international considerations to evolving income and life events, I focus on translating complexity into clear, actionable guidance.

Why I Love This Work

The most rewarding part of my role isn’t just preparing returns or solving tax issues—it’s helping people feel confident about their financial future. Education is central to my approach. When clients understand why something matters, they’re better equipped to make informed decisions year after year.

A Little More About Me

Before accounting, I played college football as an offensive lineman. Since then, I’ve traded size for endurance, completing multiple marathons and half-marathons. The discipline, consistency, and preparation required for distance running mirror my approach to tax work: steady effort, long-term vision, and no shortcuts.
